Known Issues v1.3.0.0

Friday, July 2nd, 2010

Here’s the list of know issues for CallGraph Skype Recorder version 1.3.0.0.

  • If back to back calls are made/received from Skype then the second call may not be correctly recorded. The recording file for the second call does not contain the audio the second call, but the first call. This happens only in few cases. To prevent this from happening please ensure that there is at least 30 second gap between the end of the first call and start of the second.

We have been chasing this issue but have not been able to reproduce it at our end. If you have faced it, then it will be a big help if you can enable logging from configuration -> general tab, reproduce the issue and send us the log file. Thanks!

We will keep on adding to this list as we discover issues. Please report any issues you face with CallGraph Skype recorder to support@callgraph.biz. Thanks in advance.

All the files will be converted to mp3 and we will send email confirmation with a link which can be used to access the files or order the transcript.

If you do not have an account then we will create one and send you the login details.

If you want support for another file type added then please let us know. We’ll try and add it.

Simplifying Transcript Ordering Process

Tuesday, October 6th, 2009

We have made it super easy to order transcripts of your audio files. Now you do not need to create an account beforehand. Just go to our homepage, click on the upload files button and select your file and upload it. We will create a temporary account for your upload session and link the account to your PayPal email address when the payment is made. An auto generated password will be sent to your email address and which you can then use to login to your account.

If we detect that you already have an account on Call Graph then we’ll link the temporary account with the old one and move all your data there.

Sample transcripts cannot be ordered from the temporary account. You have to create an account and verify your email address and then upload the files. Sample transcripts can now be ordered from Guest Accounts. You can create an account after uploading file to the Guest account. We provide one free sample transcript. Try it out!

We have also added a detailed description of our transcription process. Have a look.

Known Issues v1.2.1.1

Wednesday, May 27th, 2009
  • On some setups starting the recording mutes the callers voices. To prevent this turn off the Near End EC option from configuration -> advanced tab.
  • Exiting Call Graph just after the recording is finished or in between the recording might cause a crash. The files are however saved and the call is restored.
  • When playing back voicemails Call Graph gives a false notification that the call is being recorded.
  • MP3 conversion of files which have apostrophes in their name fails. For a workaround remove the apostrophe from the name.

We’ll be adding to this as we discover more. Please let us know if you find one.

UPDATE

All the above issues have been resolved in version 1.3.0.0. Please upgrade now.

Major Release, Client Version 1.2.1.1

Saturday, May 23rd, 2009

New Features

Skype 4 Echo Issue: A new option to remove Near End Echo when using Call Graph with Skype 4. Thanks to everyone who tested the workaround!

Skype Link Error Detection: If no data is being received from Skype during the recording then the recording is stopped an an error notification is displayed.

Default Wav file encoding: From this release onwards the recorded file is always encoded in wav format during the Skype call and converted to mp3 after the call is finished. This reduces the CPU load during the recording process.

Automatic Recording In Between Call: If Call Graph is started during the Skype call and automatic recording is set, then the recording is started immediately.

Browser Launch Dialog: The browser launch dialog can now be skipped.

Bug Fixes

Manual Recording: Fixed several bugs in the manual recording process.

Browser Launch During Startup: The Call Graph Browser is no longer launched on startup. Instead the toolbar is shown.

Skype Connection Notification: If Skype is not running then Call Graph does not keep on showing the Skype Connection Error notification. Instead after two attempts to connect to Skype, the Skype connection notification is shown once.

Notification Messages: The notification messages have been redone in this release.

Please update now. Do not forget to authorize Call Graph to connect to Skype after installing the update. As usual, feedback/comments is welcome.

UPDATE: Some users have reported that after applying this update they cannot hear their callers anymore. If its happening then please upgrade to version 1.3.0.0 to resolve it.

Skype Link Error

Saturday, May 23rd, 2009

If an error is detected in connection between Skype and Call Graph during the recording, then the recording is stopped prematurely and a notification is displayed to that effect. Here’s how you can resolve the issue.

  • Check if you have any other Skype plugin installed which is causing a conflict. Try disabling them and record a test call to see if it works. Generally if you have another recording plugin, it will conflict. You’ll have to choose between the other plugin and Call Graph.
  • Check if your firewall is blocking the connnection between Skype and Call Graph. Try adding an exception rule for Call Graph.

If you require help in resolving it then please contact us or leave a comment here.
